2025
Thu, May 1 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Topic: Business Basics

Business planning can feel at odds with your passion and desire for creating works of art. But it doesn’t have to! In fact, it can support and sustain it.

In this 2-hour hands-on session, we'll approach business planning through a creative and intuitive lens to design a viable and sustainable business plan.

Whether you are just getting started or an experienced maker, this workshop is for you.

Together, we'll explore how your art or craft appeals to customer needs and wants while also supporting your own livelihood.

Topics will include:

  • Big-picture financials
  • Understanding your customer and market
  • Aligning passion with purpose

You'll work with a one-page business plan template specifically designed for artists and makers, and we'll introduce additional resources available to help you.

This session can be a first step to a more refined plan.

Whether you have a business plan you’d like to refresh or need to start from scratch, come prepared to think, imagine and articulate your business intention with the support of other participants.

  • Optional: Bring a sample of your creative work that is meaningful to you to inspire your planning process.
