The CEI Women’s Business Center (WBC) and Westbrook-based Common Threads of Maine (CTM) are collaborating in this in-person 4-part cohort.

During each interactive session, participants will learn the steps to start a business, the key elements of financial projections, and how to develop a business plan.

Existing business owners in the textile industry will join and share their experiences on how they started their business. Aspiring entrepreneurs in other industries may also benefit from this business training series.

This program will take place in-person at Common Threads of Maine, 90 Bridge Street, Suite 305, Westbrook, ME 04092

The WBC and CTM monitor guidance from the Maine Centers for Disease Control and the US Centers for Disease Control and recommend masking indoors. We are being prudent to ensure that we are keeping our staff, our participants, and our communities safe.

July 22 10am-12 noon: Steps to Start a Business

July 29 10am-12 noon: How to Write a Business Plan

August 12 10am-12 noon: How to Prepare Financial Projections

August 19 10am-12 noon: How She Built It: Existing textile entrepreneurs sharing their experience

Participants are invited and encouraged to also participate (optional) in a 10-week hands-on Advanced Sewing Course June 21st-August 27th in patternmaking and clothing alterations.
