Help Your Business Grow With Investments from People You Know

Wed 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM
Topic: Financing

Are you considering creative alternatives to traditional funding methods to help your business grow? Has anyone in your network of friends or family ever offered to support your business financially? Are you wondering how to approach a former boss, coworker, or other professional connection about investing in your business?

If you've answered yes (or even maybe) to any of the questions above, this workshop is for you!

In this session, we'll walk through a few generalized scenarios of alternative investment options for small businesses. We'll cover how you can prepare for a conversation with a potential investor and when you need to bring in a professional (accountant, lawyer, etc.)

If you are seeking investments of $5,000 to $100,000 from your network, learn from our scenarios and ask the experts so you can feel prepared when considering investments from people you know.

If you have specific questions you’d like to make sure we cover, or a scenario you’d like us to generalize and use as an example, please email

This workshop will be presented by Robert Liscord, Brittany Michaud, and Doug Ginn of Drummond Woodsum.
